Today I choose self-compassion—because how could I really accept within you what I refuse to understand within myself?
Today I choose self-compassion because trusting self-blame and self-hate did not lead me where I long to love and contribute. They kept me locked up in a very tiny cage.
I choose a new way of looking at things, of feeling, of relating, of understanding the world which starts within myself.
I choose a new witnessing of light and a new definition of darkness. I choose to see the baby stars that take birth in the abyss of my heart and how only an embodied confusion can turn itself into wisdom and order.
I choose to begin anew with an open mind devoted to an open heart.
I choose self-compassion because I choose love and kindness and none of those are born from self-comtempt.
Today I choose self-compassion and await trustingly what happens next.
