Today I choose the power of joy. I let go of the idea that strength has to be brutal, serious, manly or archetypal. I let strength show me what it can do through love, openness and laughter.
I choose the power of an energy that heals and awakens the tenderest parts of us—an energy that liberates and softens and guides us back to the light, even through the darkest night.
I let my heart sing, dance and laugh even when it hurts, even when I’m scared, even when anger burns in my veins. I let my heart ground in the sacredness of being alive and reconcile the so-called good and the so-called bad in one divine experience.
I let my body shake and cry and move and expand. I let the world welcome me as I am, through my tears and with all of my joy.
Today I choose the power of joy—a joy that is true and raw and vibrant and courageous. A joy that doesn't deny what's broken, dying and unfathomable. A joy that understands that it's all part of what is and that what is is meant to be, whether I agree with is or not.
Today I choose the power of joy: after all we’ve tried fear as a mean to change the world, we know it doesn't work. So today, I choose the power of joy… and observe with humility and awe what happens now.
