Today I choose to choose my words.
I choose words that feel loving, caring, tender and brave. I let go of words that feel cold, hollow, loaded and dangerous.
I choose words that draw landscapes, gardens and oceans on our minds’ page. I choose words that make our hearts squeal and dance.
I choose soothing, healing, heartwarming words. I let go of words that tighten, close, or torture us.
I choose words that match my intentions, and not only my thoughts. I choose words that deepen and elevate—not words that scar or scare us.
I choose words that feel like a song we had never met before and not like a curse we’ve been running away from since birth.
I choose words that wish, inspire and grant. I forget the words that crush, disempower or hate.
Today I choose to choose my words—and to witness the power they hold, to destroy or create, to begin and to end. I notice that in an uncontrollable world, that choice at least is entirely ours.
